We are pleased to announce the availablility of a perfectly detailed and porportioned classic timber frame for kids to assemble and raise throughout the weekend of the Montebello Event.
The number of kids at our events has ebbed and flowed with the school schedule and the economy. Here's an event that scales well, with no auction deadline or high anxiety building program.
Old Pals Charles Leik, President of the NBA and Rick Collins of Trillium Dell have conspired to build a scale model of the Garfield Farm barn for the National Barn Alliance's educational outreach. Based on the 1842 threshing barn at Garfield Heritage Farm, this is just one of three barns constructed under this program . . .we saw the first one at TTRAG, and it was a beauty.
Bring your kids along for a safe and enlightening barn building (it's all been assembled a couple of times) and exciting raising - scaled appropriately.
We were inspired in this effort by Paul Knoebel who has been doing this sort of thing around the east for years. Thanks everyone, and especially to the parents we are hoping to identify who will take a time slot or a raising sequence as their responsibility - and an opportunity!
