Gateway Visitors' Center

Our next community building project—the Gateway Visitors' Center in Schuylerville, N.Y.—is taking shape nicely under the guidance of frame designer Mike Beganyi and project manager Neil Godden. Schuylerville is the site of British General Burgoyne’s surrender, marking a significant turning point in the Revolutionary War. The Visitors' Center will serve as the starting point for people wishing to visit the historic sites of the upper Hudson Valley.

Our building site is immediately adjacent to the surrender site, and the timber frame will feature familiar details of the historic Dutch barn frames native to the area. The exact date of the project will be announced soon., so stay tuned. Our hope is to conduct a hand raising with Guild members, immediately before our late-summer national conference in Saratoga. It’s not to be missed!
