New Hampshire Office Raising

We extend our appreciation to the Guild friends and neighbors of Joel McCarty who volunteered their time at a weekend raising and paneling of the timber frame office that Joel will be using in his duties as co-Executive Director. The 12' x 16' frame was cut in a Guild workshop. Special thanks go to Winter Panel who sent structural insulated panels (SIPs) and 3 volunteers to help with the project.

Saturday morning offers sunshine and clear blue skies, a lucky break at this time of year when the ground could as well be covered in snow. From left: Kate, Rowan in hood, Michael, Joel, Jim.

The shiplapped boards are installed as a surface for mounting the structural insulated panels from Winter Panel.

The frame with all panels installed. The boards will be trimmed, of course, and a door and windows await installation. Not bad for a weekend's work.
