Day 16 Report
The best part of this day came at the end. Members of the team were so tired of working on the deck in the heat that they marched down there after supper and just finished the thing.
Fortunately, Jim and Tim had arranged for the light towers to be delivered that afternoon. This allowed the gang to push the decking on to completion.
It was a great celebration, but the effort dragged on past moon set and meant a late night for all.
The exhilaration was palpable.
Next up, rigging configurations and bent assemblies.

- Long before sundown, but well past dinner, loyal crew members squint
and sprint across the deck, trying to stay ahead of Kevin Brennanč's
cutting team.
- Jim Campbell and Tim DeVore arranged for a string band to come on
down and accompany our evening decking party. All attempts to
syncopate hammering with the beat of the excellent bluegrass were
hilarious failures.
- Just before a sunset that no one notices, apprentice Ali positions
herself for the next course of boarding.
- Gable bent tie beam receives a monster 'patch' where one of the
canted queen posts was meant to land.
-
A fleet of rafters, but a small portion of the total we require.
- We're about to close the Scarf Shop, but not before this massive
repair to a non-gable tie beam is fitted up and obsessed over.
