Workshop Report: Part 2Friday begin with more perfect weather, although it blew so hard during the night that one tarp changed zip codes, and two of our guys found it difficult to get much sleep on their boat, moored in the harbor just off of the job site. Randy Churchill arrived to complete our leadership team.A Below, left: Under the big top, Neil Godden is leading a crew of scribers who have put these curvey braces into one of the gable bents. It's a busy scene, but strangely quiet until the cutting begins in earnest. ![]() Above, right: Live-edge braces scribed and mortised in their posts. Port Jefferson Harbor, which opens into the Long Island Sound, is just on the other side of that orange excavator. There is a very handsome park taking shape around us, and between us and the beach, as we work.
