Spring Guild Workshop in Texas

April 24-May 1, 2004

Part 4 Report

It was raining with some enthusiam when we showed up on Thursday morning, but we had had the good sense the night before to prepare some more sheltered work environments, which kept us out of the rain more or less.

Although it was pretty crowded, we made remarkable progress, despair giving way to excitement and the goal appears within our grasp. Saturday is Raising Day. The crane's ordered, concrete complete and all that, but the weather is threatening to be very aggressive. So we're scrambling as usual. By noon the rain was gone and we launched in a a remarkable afternoon of progress, eyes on the prize. Since there was no hosted dinner scheduled, we elected to work until dark, finishing the day with local pizza and a quiet view of the waterfowl coming home to roost. All in all an excellent piece of work.
