A Typical Day for a COLTS Student

COLTS students follow a regular high school schedule. This semester (Spring 1999), the program offers three class periods, each of which is an hour and a half.
One period is a beginner's class in which students learn to work with hand tools by constructing small wood toolboxes. No metal is used in the construction of these toolboxes.
The other two periods are intermediate-level classes. Some of the intermediate students have two to three class periods with COLTS. Students in the intermediate class are working diligently on the COLTS Cooperative as their primary project for this academic year. In April, they will be able to see the results of their labors first hand at the raising of the workshop.
