Sept. 18-22 Panel Installation: Part 1



On Sept. 18-20, crews from Foard Panel, PanelPros, and Winter Panel along with several students are installing about 7,000 sq. ft. of panels on the Gould Farm barn.

Panels begin
Work begins Monday morning to cut and install the wall panels under a beautiful Berkshire sky.

The company donated the OLYLOG wood fasteners to tie the barn rafters together, plus the fasteners for the panels being installed.



Dale cuts

Dale Meuse cuts a window opening with a chain saw, while Russell Ley of Scotia, New York, returns to help with installing panels, after volunteering for 2 weeks in July to help with cutting the barn itself.

Dan Aukstikalnis, a builder in Louisville, Kentucky, learns how to cut a window opening with a router. At left, another student for the course is Pat McElroy, a real estate broker in Brewster, New York, who recently completed a 3-week house building course offered by Heartwood School. Scott Mathes and Russell Ley hold the panel steady.
