Throughout the morning, each class arrived with their teacher, the children clutching their pegs signed by each of them with their name and date. They then walked in single file behind leader John Miller and as he asked each child's name, they added their peg to the beams to be assembled. The roof alone needed 144 pegs, so there were many peg holes to receive the pegs.
