Mike Beganyi Design & Consulting, LLC
Mike Beganyi has wandered through the design, woodworking, and timber framing world for the past 30 years. Throughout his education and career, he has had many roles – sculptor, studio assistant, furniture maker, timber framer, designer, marketer, and often he was a mover of very heavy objects.
Mike studied sculpture and design at the Cleveland Institute of Art and went on to the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at Columbia University. Missing working with his hands, he left architecture school and managed a small fabrication shop while teaching design. Looking for a summer enrichment course, he discovered the Heartwood School and after studying with Will Beemer, he took the first steps on a wonderful journey into the world of timber framing. Mike’s career has seen him repairing and re-raising old barns, hand-cutting fresh pine and oak frames, learning to operate CNC machines and manage busy production schedules, and teaching SketchUp courses. Mike has been working independently since 2005 and currently lives in Switzerland with his family where he spends as much time as he can paragliding in the mountains.

What’s Your Story? Relationship Building through Storytelling
How you tell your story is important in building relationships with your clients, potential clients, your community, and your coworkers and employees. Mike will discuss his work helping clients untangle their core values and refining this into the language they use for focusing their storytelling. The techniques learned are applicable from website and marketing materials and on to everyday communications with each relationship we build.
