Community Workshop - Sandpoint Bell Tower

Join the Timber Framers Guild in Sandpoint, Idaho, for a 10-day workshop and TimberFest event. Local host and Guild member Collin Beggs will join two master timber framers for a workshop beginning June 6 at the Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center. Participants will cut a bell tower, which will house a Nepalese-style bell and be installed on the historic sledding hill in Sandpoint for local partner Kaniksu Land Trust

Master craftsman Kohei Yamamoto (http://somakosha.com) will travel to us from Okayama City, Japan, and join Yann Giguere (https://www.mokuchiwoodworking.com/) to lead the two-week bell tower workshop, which will house a cast bronze bell created by sculptor Mark Kubiak. Assistant teachers will include Jordan Finch, Collin Beggs, Dave Brown, and Dave deLeeuw.

The bell tower will be raised at Pine Street Woods and gifted to the Kaniksu Land Trust and local community.

Concurrent with the workshop, the Guild will host a TimberFest event the weekend of June 9 through 11. Featuring a variety of demonstrations and speakers, as well as a KidsBuild, TimberFest will celebrate our craft and community and offer members and friends of the Guild an opportunity to gather and learn from one another. Registration is open!

Registration for this workshop includes most meals as well as dorm-style housing and registration for the weekend TimberFest event. Space is limited!

Registration has concluded on Jun 6, 2023.
