Northeast Rendezvous

This August 23-25, the Daniel Webster Council of Scouts America will host a Guild Rendezvous at its camp in Gilmanton, New Hampshire. Registration is open!

Join us for three days of camping and camaraderie as we build tables for the new craft pavilion and kayak racks for the Scouts to use on the lake at the Griswold Scout Reservation. The new craft pavilion is being cut by Timberpeg (Claremont, New Hampshire) and we look forward to being the first group to use it - we may even have the opportunity to help in its raising!

A note from local hero Scott Northcott
I was asked by the Daniel Webster Council to reach out to the timber frame community to see if we might replicate what was so beautifully accomplished at Hoge Base in Walpole back in 2019. Long story short, Andrea Warchaizer agreed to help get the project off the ground. So, with the blessing of the Guild and an incredible offer by Bill Silverstein of WHS Homes of Claremont to build a frame and raise it gratis, this New England Rendezvous began to take shape.

In addition to what the Guild has shared about this event, let me add:

  • meals will be prepared by a team of 5-star chefs and served in the spacious cafeteria
  • many canoes and kayaks are available for our use at the stunning waterfront area
  • approximately 25 communal bunks are available for those averse to tenting
  • many tent platforms are available as well as ample RV parking (no hookups)

To Bring:

  • Tent, camping supplies (if you're flying, we can help you find gear to borrow). RVs are welcome, but there are no hookups.
  • Snacks, BYOB
  • Tools - bring your basic hand tools!
  • Fishing gear (we have some that can be borrowed, but bring it if you've got it!)
  • Auction items (submit these when you check in)
  • Instruments - yes, please!

GPS Instructions from Scott Northcott:
Start with 10 Crystal Lake Road, Gilmanton Ironworks 03837. When close, put in 254 Griswold Road, Gilmanton Ironworks 03837. Or in case that doesn't work,

Before you go far on Crystal Lake Rd. the road splits and you'll stay left.  Continue on for maybe 3 miles and be watching for a sign on your right for Griswold Scout Reservation or maybe Hidden Valley Scout camp.  Turn there and go maybe a mile or so until you see the entrance on the left (plenty of signs there).

Registration has concluded on Aug 23, 2024.
