About a mile from Heartwood, Colesbrook is the closest accommodation you'll find. The owner/builder built the Heartwood Schoolhouse between 1978 and 1982 as a co-founder of the school and taught the framing part of the course. Colesbrook Manor was built by students as a Heartwood project between 1983 and 1989. Andy commenced building furniture in 1987 out of the shop above the garage, and continues to do so today. All features in the house are custom-designed and built largely from trees cut on the 70-acre property. The property is secluded with Coles Brook babbling close enough to lull you to sleep. There are two rooms on the second floor, $50 per night with a large shared bathroom. Also available is a mother-in-law suite with a private bath and back porch overlooking the brook, $100 a night. The kitchen is communal and there is a second refrigerator in the garage. Plenty of parking space. General store nearby. 15 miles to Pittsfield and 12 miles to Lee.
