Bensonwood, a design-build company, located in Walpole, NH, seeks a Timberframing Associate to join its growing team. 


Bensonwood is a national leader and innovator in the design and building of timber frame, hybrid, and panelized homes as well as light commercial projects. Position Summary

This role will be part of the Timberframe Team currently located at our facility in Walpole, NH. Working with a team of twelve (12) timber framers, this role will be responsible for assisting with the production and preparation of the timbers that are used to create a ‘Bensonwood Home’. This role will report to the Timberframe Team Leader.


We are willing to train the right candidate for this full-time role but the ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience as a skilled timber framer
  • At least two years woodworking shop experience. Machinist shop skills applicable
  • Computer literacy and familiarity in AutoCAD or similar programs helpful
  • Desire to learn & apply innovative green building techniques


Essential role functions

  • Standing for long periods of time, walking and running
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Ability to:
    • Lift at least 50 lbs
    • Safely operate hazardous equipment
    • Work safely and accurately with both heavy objects and sharp tools
    • Work safely and effectively at high elevations
    • Travel at least 30% of the time with travel including overnight stays
    • Visualize in 3 dimensions
    • Navigate in a fast-paced environment
    • Work in all weather conditions and temperatures
    • Work overtime if required
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation will be based on skill level and experience with anticipated hourly wage range between $14-18 per hour
