Plane Talk: Japanese Temple Builders

  At last: demystifying the Japanese hand plane, from the masters.   During the 2003 Western TFG Conference at Asilomar, a select group of timber framers worked alongside visiting daiku (Japanese carpenters and Master Temple Builders) who demonstrated their amazing techniques. This video of the conference’s Japanese Plane Workshop features Mike Laine and Matt Connorton conducting the workshop. The Japanese hand plane is demystified to make it a more accessible tool.
