About

Committed to Preservation

A small, Vermont-based company, we are proud to take part in preserving the heritage of New England. We specialize in restoring historic properties, old barns and  hand hewn timber frames, transforming them into beautiful, custom-designed homes, studios, additions and barns.

Committed to Sustainability

At Green Mountain Timber Frames, we value and promote energy efficiency in our construction. We strive to use reclaimed wood and environmentally-friendly materials whenever possible and our timber frames are built to last for centuries.

Committed to Our Customers

As a small versatile company, we provide a personal touch to each project and ensure that our work is always of the highest quality. We commit to knowing our customers and sharing in their joy as we transform an old barn frame into a one-of-a-kind modern home of their dreams.

Services

Preserving Historic Properties of New England?
At Green Mountain Timber Frames, we enjoy working on the occasional new timber frame project, but our focus is on restoring historic properties and old barns. Having lived in Vermont for over 40 years, we are proud that with the restoration of each frame, we play a small role in preserving the historic value of our community.

Dedicated to preserving our New England heritage, we restore timber frames built by the talented craftsmen and pioneers of the late 18th and 19th centuries. We have preserved over 50 barns – and with them many of the personal stories of their original owners from Vermont’s days as a Republic and early state. The restored wood timbers and the tales they witnessed are testimony to the historic legacy of these early Americans. Now passed on to the new inhabitants of the homes, the stories and structures themselves will live on for generations to come.
