The English Carpenter is an award-winning construction company located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The company was founded in 2008 by Master Carpenter, Paul Collins. Paul spent many years working with established commercial and residential construction companies throughout the United Kingdom and Canada. Inspired by what he learned from these experiences, he decided to form his own company – fusing his skills from both countries to develop a unique and innovative construction experience for his clients. The company has grown substantially since those early days back in 2008. Now, The English Carpenter boasts a range of skilled carpenters, labourers, and project managers who are excited to put their skills to use and build upon their knowledge of the trade. We are especially excited to now include timber framing in our list of services, along with residential renovations and additions.

We are proud to be able to offer our clients versatile timber frame structure options to suit their individual needs. Whether it is a guest suite or home office in the city, to a bunkie or cottage in the country, we are excited to work with you to bring your vision to life. Each structure is built using traditional joinery methods and using woods such as douglas fir, eastern white pine, cedar, & hemlock. When you choose to build a timber frame structure, you contribute to the creation of a sustainable and healthy product. These structures are incredibly environmentally friendly in comparison to alternative construction methods.
