TimberFest 2023: Idaho


Join us next month in Sandpoint, Idaho, for a TimberFest event! 

We will welcome Guild members and friends to the Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center June 9-11, 2023, for a weekend celebrating our craft and community. Featuring a variety of demonstrations and speakers, as well as a KidsBuild and tours, TimberFest will be a time to gather and learn from one another - and perhaps engage in some friendly competition!

Friday, June 9 - Tour Day!

10 a.m. Idaho Forest Group/Chilco Mill with Kaniksu Land Trust Check-in and depart from Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center
at 10 a.m.
12:30 p.m. Lunch at Pine Street Woods  
1:30 p.m. Pine Street Woods Explore the working forest with local foresters and Kaniksu Land Trust
3 p.m. Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center Tour the University of Idaho's orchard and facilities with manager Kyle
Nagy (and stop by the Japanese timber framing workshop)
5 p.m. stay tuned!  
6 p.m. Kickoff Dinner With a welcome from TFG board members and local leaders
7:30 p.m. Historical tour and pub crawl of downtown Sandpoint Meet in downtown Sandpoint, location TBA

Attendees can also check in on the 10-day Japanese timber framing workshop led by Kohei Yamamoto (http://somakosha.com) and Yann Giguere (https://www.mokuchiwoodworking.com/).

The KidsBuild event will run both Saturday and Sunday, and we are looking for a few timber framers to volunteer in support of this great program! Contact Allison at the Guild office if you want to get involved!
