I live and breathe timber framing. I remember my first conference at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1990. 620 of my fellow timber framers also attended that conference. Many remain friends and colleagues today. I am as excited now about the Guild as I was then. I was working for Jan Lewandoski and it had become apparent that I was going to do traditional building and heavy timber frame repair for the rest of my life. My goals for working with the Guild include financial stability, friendraising, an expansion of membership, and an increase in internship and apprenticeship opportunities. I believe in “immersion learning,” where you learn by doing, guided and supported by those who may know more than you do.
