Laura Viklund

I am a registered architect and timber frame business co-owner in Powell, Wyoming. I was first introduced to the Guild in 2002 when I participated in a project run by Rick and Laura Brown. I was immediately taken with the sense of community and the craft. For me, the magic of the Guild is the generous sharing of knowledge. I value the people I can call when I need to talk through a construction detail, find itinerants, or debate how a carpenter may have framed their roof system 250 years ago. This type of relationship wouldn’t be possible without projects and conferences. I believe it is important to keep these events relevant and accessible to framers and enthusiasts of varying ages, experiences, and economic statuses, and look forward to working towards these goals while on the board.
