Call for Proposals

Please consider sharing your skills and expertise by proposing a presentation for the conference! 

Knowledgeable professionals with expertise in timber frame construction and supporting systems are invited to submit proposals for workshop and seminar presentations at the Guild Conference in Keystone, Colorado on November 10-12, 2023. Please fill out this interest form with the details of your proposal to be considered! 

Why Submit

The speaker program at Guild conferences is a large part of what draws 300+ attendees from all over North America. These gatherings are a special opportunity to share knowledge and grow skills with a diverse group of timber framers, engineers, architects, enthusiasts, and more. Your unique perspective is what makes these conferences shine! While speakers do not get a discount on registration, they do get national recognition and a small honorarium to help offset their travel costs.  

Themes for Proposals

Possible topics for consideration include, but are not limited to, the following: timber frame engineering, preservation and restoration of historic timber frames, tools and technology, timber frame architecture and design, sustainable construction and materials, health and safety, or project management. We welcome proposals on nearly any subject related to timber framing or wood and encourage first-time presenters to apply! Please feel free to email our Special Projects Director, Cate McAnulty, at cate@tfguild.org with questions.

Reserve Your Trade Show Booth

The Timber Framers Guild invites you to promote your company or organization to timber framers and related professionals from across North America who are gathering at the Timber Framers Guild’s national conference in Keystone, Colorado. Our Nov. 10-12 conference is expected to attract 300+ skilled professionals, timber framing enthusiasts, architects, engineers, and more. As always, the conference focuses on engineering, design, the built environment, and sustainability, as well as historic structures and their preservation and the advancement of the craft. We expect great enthusiasm and attendance. It is an excellent opportunity to talk to a uniquely targeted group of decision-makers who are designing and building some of the finest homes and commercial projects.

Looking for an advertising opportunity? Guild Conferences, which often draw 200-300 timber framers, suppliers, engineers, and enthusiasts, are a great opportunity to spread the word about your product or service to potential clients while also supporting the Timber Framers Guild and its educational mission. Funding for Young Engineers

As a result of a generous donation, we are launching the Jan Lewandowski Fellowships, which will give $1,000 to ten young engineers to help defray their costs for participating in the Conference and the associated TFEC Symposium.  One goal is strengthening the international timber framing community. Applicants should be (1) an engineering student or early-career engineer under age 32, (2) a non-US citizen, and (3) have demonstrated interest in timber framing, be it new construction or historic preservation. The applicant can be living in the United States or elsewhere. This means, for example, that a person from the EU currently enrolled or doing research at a US institution is eligible. Applications must be submitted through this online form. Any questions can be directed to eric@tfguild.org. 

Registration

Registration will open in July. Registration rates for 2023 will be $625 per person for TFG members. Should you need to cancel your registration, requests received prior to September 16 receive a 75% refund. Cancellations received from September 16 to October 31 receive a 50% refund. Refunds will not be available after October 31.

About Keystone

About 2 hours from the Denver airport, Keystone is well-known as a four-season destination resort town, and it's also home to the Keystone Science School. To meet the various needs of our members, we have a block of rooms at the Keystone Resort and Conference Center and also space for 60 people in the dorms at the school (two bunkbeds per room). Additional options for accommodation may be available.
