The Guild’s new headquarters is located in Alstead, New Hampshire, about 2 hours from Boston and Hartford or 4-5 hours from New York City. For many years, the building was used by Bensonwood as a production facility, with 25-40 people on-site. Starting in 2022, the Guild is offering classes, workshops, tours, and programs in Alstead to supplement the programs that we have done across North America and further afield since the 1980s. We have two classrooms, two study areas, and a library, and below is a picture of the workshop space, to be used by the Heartwood School.
Programming is still in development, so in the interim, the Guild is often on the road, participating in or speaking at programs hosted by partner institutions. These include the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance, Touch-a-Trade, and the Association for Preservation Technology.
