I have had a varied career. Starting with an apprenticeship in metal working as a fabricator and machinist, I moved into logging and arborist work before starting my timber framing career with Carpenter Oak and Woodland in 1990. I am co-owner of Macdonald & Lawrence Timber Framing and have been operating his timber frame business for 10 years since moving to Canada from the U.K. in 2005.
I am a lifetime member of the Guild and have been active since the mid-1990s. I have been a member of the Carpenters Fellowship since its beginnings in 2000 and served as a director for 3 years.
I have a passion for machinery and making things and am happiest when in the workshop, figuring out how construction challenges. A lifelong motorcyclist, I love riding my Enduro, street, and vintage bikes. I live near Victoria on Vancouver Island, B.C., with my partner Margaret and her daughter Hanna.
