Join us for a layout workshop in Corvallis, Oregon, on September 4 & 5. Instructors from the Greenbelt Land Trust Community Building Project will lead this two-day, hands-on session.
In our ongoing effort to squeeze as much fun and learning as possible from each Community Building Project, we are proud to present a two-day intensive layout workshop. The Bald Hill Pavilion framing has numerous opportunities to practice these skills; we decided to offer this opportunity to anyone wanting to dive deeper into layout methods and practice.
This workshop will cover advanced material and is suited to professional carpenters or enthusiastic amateurs. The workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to learn and practice square rule and compound layout skills, with one-on-one coaching. You will work on your own timbers and be able to follow the layout process with subsequent cutting and installation if you attend the Community Building Project that follows. Learn more about the Greenbelt Community Building Project HERE.
The workshop will run for two days immediately prior to the start of the Community Building Project. There are camping facilities available to you, including showers. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Evening meals will be on your own, but we will attempt to coordinate a communal dining experience at a restaurant or possibly a barbecue on site.
If you register for this workshop, you will also be guaranteed a place on the volunteer team for the Greenbelt Community Building Project that follows the workshop. If you wish to attend the workshop but not the project, please register for the workshop only. If you wish to attend both events, you must register for both events.
Cost to attend this 2-day workshop is $450, includes breakfast and lunch. Payable at the time of registration.
