Mark your calendar and join us for the Northwest Rendezvous, August 25-27!
Pitch your tent at Silver Falls State Park in Sublimity, Oregon (near Silverton), for the weekend and let's have some timber frame fun! The weekend kicks off with a park tour on Friday, including exploration of WPA projects on-site.
Meanwhile, Guild board member Kieran Taylor will lead a timber frame project to build a new kiosk for the park, starting with an introduction to timber framing. The kiosk project will run through the weekend and participants are welcome to come and go since there will be so much going on during the rest of the Rendezvous!
Saturday starts with a presentation on the current happenings at the Guild and Heartwood, followed by a tool sharpening demo and a presentation by engineer Jennifer Anthony. In the afternoon, join us for sessions on converting trees to timber, discussions on a range of topics, and more - including some axe throwing! Then, we gather around the fire after dinner for some catch-up time and music.
On Sunday, we wrap up the kiosk build and raise it at the Rendezvous site before breaking it down for transport to its final location.
Registration will open soon for this informal Guild event, so mark your calendars and plan for a long weekend at Silver Falls State Park in August!
