We're pioneers in the salvaged antique wood industry. Over the past 27 years, we've rescued more than 25 million board feet of wood from old factories, warehouses, canal locks, food and wine vats, and barns. Our structural and decorative timbers, paneling, siding, flooring, and custom products are found in fine and funky homes, retail shops, hotels, and restaurants across the nation.
We often say we were in the reclaimed wood industry before there was a reclaimed wood industry. Our doors opened in 1988 in a small ramshackle building in a town not much bigger than the building. Since then, we’ve evolved, growing steadily into a 50,000-sq.-ft. shop, a nine-acre yard, locations on both coasts, and over 50 craftsmen, designers, artists, and community members. Today, we are the largest domestic resource for reclaimed and sustainable wood products and timbers, with more than 50 species, grades, and specialty items available.
Our reclaimed wood experts have decades of experience with antique wood, and all hold design degrees. We work hard to make your work with reclaimed wood easy. We are as passionate about the environment as we are about the character of antique wood—the two go hand in hand. But there is more to the reclaimed wood story: old growth trees cut over a hundred years ago offer superior stability (allowing for tight, clean joinery), rich patinas, intense grain, and if we’re lucky, signs of its previous life including ferrous staining, bolt holes, and insect tracks.
Our reclaimed solid and engineered wood products are fully manufactured—from sourcing to milling to you—in the U.S. from our N.Y. and Ore. facilities. We manufacture in a way that’s healthful for you, your customers, our employees, and the planet. We’re FSC-certified in three categories, Green America approved, and our products are all LEED point eligible. We’re members of the TFG, the TFBC, NESEA, NWFA, and the USGBC.
Testimonials
“We trusted Pioneer to deliver 38,000 bd.ft. of larger-dimension reclaimed Douglas fir timbers on schedule . . . and they did it.”

"Just wanted to send a big THANK YOU your way for the very professional and enjoyable way you handled [client name withheld]! This is a big deal because, to me, it doesn't matter how well a house is constructed. If it doesn't have the look one wants, it no longer is the dream house."
