Corey Omey

EMA Architecture, Managing Partner

Corey’s background and interest in architecture began as a child, growing up in a family of builders and a sustainable community of craftspeople and artists, and working for ten summers at a pottery studio in West Michigan. Corey began his professional career as an intern with EMA, working as part of the team on retail, winery, and housing projects. As his skills developed, he became a project manager, then an architect in 2007, and then partner. He is now managing partner of EMA, and participates in, oversees, and supports the design and management of almost all projects in the office. While at the University of Oregon as a Graduate Teaching Fellow and for two years after as an assistant professor, Corey co-taught the Building Enclosures course. His skills include extensive knowledge of building systems, details, and project coordination. Corey is a volunteer with the Northwest Earth Institute, a Solar Advocate with Solar Oregon, an active member and volunteer with GRiT (Green Roof information Thinktank), a Rotarian with the Portland Pearl Rotary Club, B-Local community and Neighbors Helping Neighbors, the Pledge PDX.
