Jackson DuBois

Jackson DuBois brings extensive experience as a timber framer, administrator, preservationist, designer, and instructor to the Timber Framers Guild. As the Owner/Founder of DuBois Timber Frames, he has worked both domestically and abroad, focusing on historic building restoration, preservation, and adaptive reuse as well as design, planning, and construction.

Jackson is a certified Timber Framing Journeyworker, and holds multiple certifications in conservation and preservation assessment, methodology, and techniques; timber selection, management, grading, and handling; safe work practice; and tool and machinery handling and care. He also holds technical certifications related to trade sciences, history, design, and construction, among others, and completed a log building internship at the University of Copenhagen Forestry Extension. Jackson has volunteered on the restoration of timber frames in the United States and Europe, including the Gwozdziec Synagogue reconstruction for the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, and has taught seminars and workshops in a variety of environments and with a range of partners, including the Cooperstown Graduate Program Masters in Material Culture, Charpentiers sans FrontieĢ€res, and Mortise & Tenon magazine. He also had the privilege of being one of a handful of foreign master craftspeople to be invited to participate in the restoration of the Notre Dame de Paris, which reopened in 2024.
